Council Member Ellen Andeen
Council Member Ellen Andeen is serving her first term as a member of Town Council after serving as a Police Volunteer with the Paradise Valley Police Department.
Ellen is a native of Arizona and 3rd generation resident of the Town of Paradise Valley. Council Member Andeen has had family members active in the Town since the 50s, most notably her Father, Dr. Richard Andeen, who served on Council in the 80s. Ellen’s Mother, Anne Andeen, has served on various committees throughout the years to include Historical Committee and the Board of Adjustments.
Council Member Andeen attended Cherokee Elementary School (K-8) and Chaparral High School and the University of Arizona double majoring in Accounting and Finance. She then returned to the University of Arizona graduating in 2016 with a Master’s in Business Administration (MBA) graduating summa cum laude. Ellen aspires to obtain a Doctorate in Statistics or Economics.
Ellen was baptized and confirmed at St. Barnabas on the Desert also serving in the Junior Choir and as an Acolyte. She currently attends Scottsdale Bible Church.
Council Member Andeen has had a passion for the automotive industry since childhood. She has worked for Penske Automotive Group in Phoenix leading an acquisition team. Before this, she spent 25 years in banking with a focus on the automotive industry.
Fulfilling a lifelong commitment to give back to the law enforcement community, Ellen served as a Police Volunteer with the Paradise Valley Police Department. She also served as Board Treasurer to the FBI Phoenix Citizens Academy Alumni Association. Ellen is also an advocate for Special Olympics Arizona.
Council Member Andeen utilizes her strengths in accounting and finance to focus on fiscal responsibility, banking, investment, and finance responsibilities. She has taken a personal interest in the Public Safety Personnel Retirement pension system and is dedicated to the elimination of the Town’s unfunded liability. Growing up on the east side of Mummy Mountain, Council Member Andeen is prioritizing mountain preservation, responsible development, and preservation of the Town’s unique character.
Ellen is a Board Member of the Phoenix Symphony and a past Committee Member to the 2022 ChildHelp Drive the Dream Gala Committee.
Ellen is passionate about hiking and most weekends can be found on Piestewa Peak. She also lifts weights and prioritizes health and wellness after surviving breast cancer at an early age. Ellen also enjoys the symphony, theater and off Broadway shows.
Council Member Andeen feels very honored to serve the Town of Paradise Valley.
